Antonijevic and Jovicic Play for Doubles Title

PEORIA, Ill. – The DePaul doubles team of Lenka Antonijevic and Marija Jovicic is one win away from winning the title at the Bradley Invitational.

The Blue Demon duo came away with a 6-1 victory over Natalia Barbery and Sandra Maletin of Bradley in Saturday’s Flight A semifinal match.

They will go against the Illinois State tandem of Veronika Golanova and Jelena Vujicic at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the David Markin Tennis Courts.

In Flight B doubles, Alina Kuzmenkova and Milica Tesic fell to Claire Martin and Srishti Slaria 6-3 of Eastern Illinois and will play for third place on Sunday against EIU’s Shelby Anderson and Abby Carpenter.

In Flight A singles, Antonijevic came up short 6-3, 7-6 to Rachel Papavasilopoulos of EIU and will take on Thisuri Molligoda of Northern Illinois in Sunday’s third-place match. Alina Kuzmenkova dropped a 6-0, 6-3 consolation match to Stella Cliffe (EIU) and will play for seventh place against Jelena Vujicic of Illinois State.



Jovicic advanced to the Flight B consolation title match after prevailing over Maria Potsi of Northern Illinois 6-2, 6-4. The Blue Demon freshman will face Bradley’s Barbery on Sunday.

In Flight C, Milica Tesic will compete in the seventh-place match Sunday after falling to EIU’s Emily Pugachevsky 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 on Saturday. Tesic will oppose EIU’s Martin.
