DePaul Women's Tennis Continues Romeoville, Ill. Tournament

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The DePaul women's tennis team wrapped up day two with a 9-2 singles mark at the DePaul/Lewis University Invitational on Saturday, September 29 at Romeoville High School. It will be an all-DePaul finals in both Flight A and Flight B, as Matea Cutura reached the finals of Flight A with a pair of wins over Chicago State's Karyn Emeralda and UIC's Haley Craig. Carolin Neumann continued to roll, and will join Cutura in the final match on Sunday, defeating Natalia Kuvakina of UIC and teammate Ana Vladutu in a competitive match. Kelsey Lawson and Rebeca Mitrea also won two matches to advance to face each other in the championship of Flight B singles on Sunday. Lawson took her first match, 6-0, 6-1, over Bailey of Milwaukee and proceeded to defeat Illinois State's Phyllis Tigges 6-3, 6-3. Mitrea was a 6-1, 6-0 winner over Valpo's Kristin Zakiewicz and then took a 6-1, 7-5 decision from UIC's Jana Knoppe. Match play is scheduled to finish beginning at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 30 at Romeoville High School.
