Women's Tennis Picks Up Four Singles Wins on Day Three at USTA/ITA Regionals

Singles Draw (.pdf) CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Three Blue Demons remain alive after Saturday's day three action at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championships at the Atkins Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Illinois. Jasmin Kling, Matea Cutura and Patricia Fargas all received byes in the first round and took care of business in the round of 32, while Ana Vladutu picked up one singles win before bowing out in the second round. Cutura took her second round match with EMU's Klara Supejova 6-0, 6-4, while Kling was also a winner in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5 over Northern Illinois' Nelle Youel. Fargas needed three to win her match with Northwestern's Linda Abu-Mushrefova, but advanced by a score of 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Vladutu's win was also in three, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 over Michigan's Kristin Dodge. Each of the three Blue Demons remaining in the tournament field needs just two wins to reach the finals of their respective draws on Sunday afternoon. Singles Main Draw
