Blue Demons Win Six Singles Matches on Day One at WMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The DePaul women's tennis team won six singles and two doubles matches to start play at the WMU Super Challenge on Friday at West Hills Athletic Club. In singles play, Matea Cutura continued her solid fall run, improving to 9-1 overall with a 6-2, 6-2 result against Iowa State's Simona Cacciutolo. Sophomore Jasmin Kling also picked up a straight sets win over Penn State's Devan McCluskey (6-3, 6-1). Ana Vladutu, Zaina Sufi and Rebeca Mitrea were also winners in straight sets. Vladutu overcame a Marquette foe, Ana Pimienta, 6-2, 6-2 and is now 11-2 on the fall. Sufi was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over WMU's Caroline Aleck, while Mitrea beat Bowling Green's Katie Brozovich 6-4, 6-1. Jarret Fisher was also victorious, fighting through a tough opening set for a three-set win. Fisher defeated the Broncos' Jill Pastunink 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (3) to improve to 10-0 on the fall season. Play will resume on Saturday morning with a mix of singles and doubles. Singles
