Women's Tennis Conclude Wildcat Invitational
EVANSTON, Ill. The DePaul women’s tennis team concluded its season-opening weekend of competition at the Wildcat Invitational with two additional doubles victories. In the first session of doubles play, Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic picked up a win against Florida State’s Jessica Wente and Lauren MacFarlane, 8-4. Gia McKnight and Sandra Zmak fell to Taylor Lindsey and Paulina Bigos of Alabama, 8-4. The Northwestern tandem of Elena Chernykova and Nazlie Ghazal defeated Cali Gustafson and Kirsten Gambrell, 8-2. In the second session, McKnight teamed up with Dunja Antunovic to beat Bigos and Courtney McLane, 8-4. The doubles teams of Redesci and Gustafson, and Gambrell and Katarina Milinkovic both lost to teams from Flordia State. The Blue Demons return to action next weekend when they travel to Madison, Wisc. on Saturday, Jan. 24 to face Wisconsin. On Sunday, DePaul hosts Cleveland State at the Lakeshore Athletic Center at 1 p.m. (CST), before traveling to Hyde Park to face cross-town rival the University of Chicago.
