Women's Tennis Upsets No. 38 Colorado



BOULDER, Colo. The DePaul women’s tennis team earned a 4-3 road victory over No. 38 Colorado on Friday.  The Blue Demons took the doubles point and three singles matches from the Buffaloes at the Millennium Harvest House.

DePaul opened the evening with victories in the top two doubles frames.  Senior Gergana Ganeva and junior Dunja Antunovic recorded an 8-3 win over Camila Belassi and Melisa Esposito at No. 1 doubles, while senior Beatrix Csordas and freshman Selma Salkovic knocked off Franziska Jendrian and Monica Milewski, 8-5, in the No. 2 match.

Ganeva delivered a point for the Blue Demons at No. 2 singles as she rolled past Belassi, 6-3, 6-2.  Salkovic notched a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Gleisy Torres Torres at No. 4 singles before senior Anja Mihaldinec clinched the upset with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 win over Victoria Almagno at No. 6 singles.

DePaul improves to 3-0 on the season while Colorado falls to 0-3.

The Blue Demons return to action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. (CST) dual at Denver.  The Blue Demons face the No. 47 Pioneers at the Pinehurst Country Club.
