CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s tennis team puts its two-game winning streak on the line when it heads to Indiana for duals with IPFW and Butlers.  The Blue Demons and Mastodons hit the courts on Jan. 28 at 2p.m., while DePaul and the Bulldogs clash on Sunday at Noon.

The Blue Demons (2-1) are coming off a pair of sweeps over Cleveland State and Chicago State last weekend.  In its first two home duals of the season, DePaul did not drop a set in singles while eight sets were won 6-0.

Freshman Rebeca Mitrea leads the Blue Demons with a 12-2 singles mark and has won her last seven matches. Fellow classmate, Patricia Fargas also has 12 singles victories.

The Blue Demon freshmen duo of Mitrea and Fargas also boast a team-best 6-3 mark and are 1-1 in the No. 2 doubles position.  Jasmin Kling and Gia McKnight are 2-1 in top doubles flight.

Following this weekend, DePaul returns to Lake Shore Sport and Fitness and hosts Girl, Women and Sport Day against No. 31 SMU.   The Feb. 4 match is set to begin at 6 p.m., while more 50 girls will join the Blue Demons on the courts before the first serve.
