Women's Tennis Drops Dual Meet With Iowa

IOWA CITY (Jan. 29) - Szilvia Keleman registered the lone win for the women's tennis team when they traveled to Iowa this past weekend for a dual meet with the Hawkeyes.

Keleman topped Deni Alexandrova at number two singles 6-3, 7-5. Two others, Laura Taylor and Kadi Hilpus, missed sending their matches to a third set by falling in a tiebreaker, while Stephanie Matko extended her match to a third set before losing 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Taylor lost her number one singles match 6-1, 7-5 and Hilpus was beaten at number three 6-3, 7-6.

The team's next match will be its first home contest of the year. The Blue Demons will host UAB this Friday at 6 p.m. at the Lakeshore Athletic Club.
