Women's Tennis Hosts Three This Weekend

CHICAGO -- The DePaul women's tennis team opens up its first homestand of the season with three games at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness this weekend.

On Friday, No. 74 DePaul (1-1) hosts No. 25 TCU (3-1) at 1 p.m. and the Blue Demons follow up the match with one on Saturday at 2 p.m. against No. 65 Louisville and another on Sunday against UIC at 1 p.m. to conclude the busy weekend.

DePaul is coming off a successful weekend at the ITA Kick-Off in College Station, Texas, which saw the Blue Demons advance to the Round of 32 in the event for the first time in school history. On Jan. 25, DePaul handled No. 68 San Jose State, 4-1, before dropping a 4-1 decision to No. 7 Texas A&M on Jan. 26.

The Blue Demons went 4-4 in singles play and 2-2 in doubles play a week ago. Senior Kelsey Lawson went 1-0 individually to extend her winning streak to four matches. She is a perfect 4-0 in the spring. Ana Vladutu, who came into the spring ranked No. 52 in the nation, Rebeca Mitrea and Zaina Sufi also won singles matches in College Station.

Following this weekend's matches, DePaul travels to Iowa City, Iowa, on Feb. 8-9 for matches against No. 72 Oregon and Iowa before returning home for three matches in two days on Feb. 15-16.
