Stephanie Matko Named C-USA Player of the Week
CHICAGO - DePaul's Stephanie Matko was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 4 it was announced by the league on Tuesday. Matko won the decisive match against Cincinnati, a three-set victory over the Bearcats' Leen Cornellie to clinch the 4-3 Blue Demons' victory in the C-USA opener. On Feb. 3, Stephanie helped DePaul overcome a 3-0 deficit to defeat No. 61 Illinois State, 4-3. Matko downed ISU's Tatyana Ugorich, 6-3, 6-3. Stephanie's twin sister Natalie was Conference USA Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 28.
