Women's Tennis Travels to Indiana for a Pair of Duals
CHICAGO The No. 57 DePaul women’s tennis team travels to Indiana this weekend, February 13-14, for a Friday dual versus Butler followed by a Saturday morning match-up against No. 30 Indiana. Last weekend, the Blue Demons took 7-0 shutouts from Saint Louis and Lewis, while dropping a tight match to No. 28 Texas, 4-3. Dunja Antunovic, Gia McKnight, and Selma Salkovic all earned singles-match wins in the narrow loss. Senior Antunovic and junior Anna Redecsi have been holding down the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots with a combined 12-2 record. Antunovic, who received an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rank of 109, currently boasts 15 season victories, while winning the last seven of eight contests. Redecsi earned recognition on the Midwest Regional Polls, and opened her dual season with six singles-match wins. The Blue Demons (6-2) first face Butler on Friday at 3 p.m. (CST) The last pairing between the two occurred in DePaul’s season-opener last season resulting in a 6-1 win for the Blue Demons. The team squares off with Indiana (7-1) at 10 a.m. on Saturday. DePaul last faced the Hoosiers in 2008, when they lost 5-2. Results will be posted on www.depaulbluedemons.com at the end of each day.
