Women's Tennis Rolls through Conference USA Weekend

Blue Demons celebrate first outdoor matches of the season by posting three league wins by a combined score of 19-2.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The DePaul women’s tennis team played its first outside matches of the year and rolled through three Conference USA foes over the weekend, beating Memphis and UAB by identical 6-1 scores and then shutting out Saint Louis 7-0.

"We really had a great weekend,” DePaul Head Coach Mark Ardizzone said. “To beat conference foes convincingly really showed a lot of effort and tenacity on our part. We are supposedly not a very good outside team but I think we ended any talk of that this weekend. It was a great team effort!"

The wins moved the Blue Demons’ winning streak to six and during that time they have only surrendered two points. Individually, Marina Parashkevova and and Beatrix Csordas improved to 14-2 at No. 1 doubles while Gergana Gaaneva has allowed just 13 games in her last six matches and leads the team in singles victories with 12.
