DePaul’s Marina Parashkevova was named C-USA women’s tennis player of the week after posting a perfect record this weekend. The senior led the Blue Demons to three C-USA victories. Playing at No.1 doubles and No. 2 singles, the Parashkevova posted a 6-0 record as DePaul beat Memphis, 6-1, UAB, 6-1, and Saint Louis, 7-0.
Parashkevova defeated Andrea Feichtinger of Memphis, 6-2, 6-3. She also racked up victories over Julia von Samson of UAB, 6-2, 6-2 and Saint Louis’ Amanda Hellberg (SLU) 6-4, 6-7, 1-0. Those wins put her over the 80-win mark in singles matches, placing her among the top five in DePaul women’s tennis history.
Parashkevova teamed up with Beatrix Csordas to compile a 14-2 record on the season with three wins in doubles, surrendering seven games total. The pair defeated Memphis, 8-0, UAB, 8-5, and Saint Louis, 8-2. The Blue Demons are currently 9-5 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Next up for DePaul is a three-match road trip at Ball State March 4 and Butler and IUPUI on March 5.
