Blue Demons Rout Connecticut, 7-0
CHICAGO The No. 41 DePaul women’s tennis team shut out Connecticut today in its BIG EAST Conference opener at the Lakeshore Athletic Club, 7-0. The Blue Demons improve to 11-2 (1-0 BIG EAST) while the Huskies fall to 0-3 (0-1 BIG EAST). DePaul swept the doubles point, winning all three matches. Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic picked up their sixth-straight win to improve their record as a pair to a team-best 13-1. The duo defeated Kelley Lo Russo and Sllison Campitiello, 8-3. Cali Gustafson and Sandra Zmak remain undefeated as a pair, beating Emily Searle and Jennifer Marotta, 8-1. Gia McKnight and Sandra Zmak won their No. 2 doubles match, 8-4. In singles action, Katarina Milinkovic beat Searle, 6-1, 6-0 to pick up her 17th season-win. McKnight earned her team-best 22nd victory of the season, defeating Katie Moritz, 6-1, 6-3. Both Milinkovic and McKnight are tied with dual season records of 10-1 Redecsi currently leads the team with a dual season record of 11-1. Today she defeated Lo Russo in the No. 1 match, 6-0, 6-3.
