No. 30 Women's Tennis Team Hosts a Three-Match Weekend
CHICAGO The No. 30 DePaul women’s tennis team remain in Chicago this weekend, as they play host to Illinois State, Drake, and Western Illinois at the Lakeshore Athletic Club. On Friday, March 6, the Blue Demons face the Redbirds at 6 p.m. (CST) A doubleheader kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday when the team faces the Bulldogs and the Westerwinds. DePaul moved up to No. 30 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) latest rankings. The Blue Demons went 2-0 last weekend when they defeated Connecticut and No. 61 Western Michigan. Anna Redecsi was named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week after her weekend of stellar performances. The junior went undefeated in both singles and doubles play, including a match-clinching win against WMU’s Emily Dudzik. Redecsi and doubles partner Selma Salkovic entered the ITA polls on Tuesday at No. 64 in the doubles rankings. Illinois State enters Friday’s dual with a 5-3 record and has won its last three duals. Drake sits at 3-7 after losing a pair of duals last weekend to Saint Louis and Missouri. Western Illinois has won just one meet against UW-Green Bay. Lakeshore Athletic Center is located at 1320 W. Fullerton Ave. Admission is free to all spectators.
