No. 24 DePaul Tangles with No. 54 Iowa on Sunday
CHICAGO - The No. 24 DePaul women's tennis team heads to Iowa for a 10 a.m. clash with the 54th-ranked Hawkeyes on Sunday at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. The Blue Demons have won seven of their last eight matches and are facing their seventh ranked team this season. DePaul (9-2) is looking to bounce back from a 5-2 loss at No. 71 BYU on Feb. 28. DePaul won the doubles point behind the fantastic play of its No. 9 pair of Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic, who enter the weekend with a 20-4 record and have won their last seven matches. Kirsten Gambrell and Sandra Zmak also picked up a win last week and boast a 10-4 record. The Blue Demons have accumulated a 83-63 record in singles action this season, while six of DePaul's seven rostered players have reached double-digit wins. Katarina Milinkovic and Salkovic lead DePaul with 14 wins each. DePaul, who has been tested in all 11 of its matches, is facing its third consecutive ranked team in Iowa. The Hawkeyes have won two of their last three matches and picked up a 5-2 victory over Missouri on Saturday. Iowa (7-2) is led by No. 77 Sonja MolnarSon who has recorded 17 singles victories this season. Following Sunday's match at Iowa, DePaul travels to Florida for duals at Florida Atlantic and Florida International March 25 and 26, respectively.
