Women's Tennis Picks Up Two More Wins
DES MOINES, Iowa (Mar. 12) - The women's tennis team extended its winning streak to six straight with wins over Drake and Northwest Missouri State this past weekend. The Blue Demons surrendered just one team point in the two matches winning 6-1 and 7-0 respectively.
Against Drake, DePaul swept the doubles matches to earn its point there and then proceeded to win five of the six singles matches. Szilvia Keleman and Kadi Hilpus won their matches in three sets, while Stephanie and Natalie Matko and Karen Falduto all won their matches in straight sets. Natalie Matko had the easiest go of the bunch, winning 6-1, 6-3. The Blue Demons followed the Drake victory by playing Northwest Missouri later in the afternoon. Of the 13 singles games played DePaul players won eight of them 6-0. Falduto, Natalie Matko and Rachel Dybas each won their matches 6-0, 6-0 and Stephanie Matko won 6-1, 6-0. The wins move the Blue Demons' record to 11-9 on the season as they take a couple weeks off to pepare for their spring break trip. The team does not play again until March 27 when they are in Phoenix, Arz.
