Women's Tennis Rips Cincinnati, Falls to Western Michigan

CHICAGO – The DePaul women’s tennis team opened the weekend in grand fashion, beating Cincinnati 6-1 on Saturday before dropping a tight match to 51st-ranked Western Michigan 5-4 on Sunday.

The win moved the Blue Demons to a perfect 4-0 in C-USA play.

“Saturday was a very solid performance,” DePaul head coach Mark Ardizzone said. “I was really happy with our doubles play.  Marina and Bea have been awesome while Bojana and Anja really played a complete match and didn't let down at all.  We are very happy to be 4-0 in conference play and look forward to a couple more conference matches soon.

“Sunday was a great college tennis match,” Ardizzone said. “Western Michigan was just a little better.  It was the kind of match that will make us much better at the end of the year. We didn't lose this match, Western Michigan just beat us.”
