Women's Tennis Faces BIG EAST Opponents
CHICAGO The No. 59 DePaul women’s tennis team plays a pair of BIG EAST Conference duals this weekend as Cincinnati visits Lakeshore Athletic Club on Saturday before the Blue Demons face Seton Hall on Sunday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Saturday’s 2 p.m. match marks Senior Day as DePaul celebrates the collegiate accomplishments of Clare Chmiel, Beatrix Csordas, Gergana Ganeva, Anja Mihaldinec and Bojana Murisic. Sunday's first serve is set for 10 a.m. The Blue Demons (14-4, 3-0 BIG EAST) are winners of five consecutive duals. Last week saw DePaul post a 7-0 shutout over Florida Atlantic. The Blue Demons have maintained a perfect record over league opponents this season with 6-1 victories over Rutgers, Syracuse and St. John’s. Through 18 spring duals, Ganeva holds a 12-6 singles record with 11 victories in the No. 2 slot. Csordas is 8-3 in dual season singles play, while Mihaldinec carries a perfect 6-0 record in the No. 6 match. Murisic is 2-0 at No. 6 singles. Cincinnati (5-12, 1-6 BIG EAST) split a pair of duals last week with a 6-1 win over Wright State and a 7-0 loss to Boston University. Seton Hall (2-11, 2-7 BIG EAST) has suffered four consecutive losses; most recently taking a 7-0 shutout from Pittsburgh on March 29. The 2007 campaign saw DePaul post two wins over Cincinnati and one victory over Seton Hall. The Blue Demons topped the Bearcats, 4-1, on April 19 in the BIG EAST Championships after edging out a 4-3 win in Cincinnati on March 31. DePaul earned a 4-3 neutral-court victory over the Pirates on April 7.
