CHICAGO – The 39th-ranked DePaul women’s team hosts Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon for its second-to-last regular season match of the year.

The contest between the Blue Demons (17-3) and Bearcats (9-11) is slated for 1 p.m.

DePaul saw its 16-match winning streak come to an end last weekend when it dropped back-to-back matches at No. 26 Rice, 6-1, and No. 33 Houston, 4-2. During the streak, the Blue Demons climbed as high as No. 25 in the ITA National Poll.

Despite the two team setbacks last weekend, senior Kelsey Lawson hit an individual milestone in the match at Houston. Her 7-5, 7-6 over Maria Andrea Cardenas in the No. 4 position gave her 100 wins in her sparkling career as a Blue Demon. Lawson is 100-50 overall, going 27-15 as a freshman, 21-15 as a sophomore, 28-11 her junior year and 24-9 so far as a senior this season.

This year, Lawson is one of four Blue Demons who has held a double-digit winning streak in dual play. Also on the list is Rebeca Mitrea, Zaina Sufi and Jasmin Kling.

The Blue Demons and Bearcats last met exactly one year ago Sunday. DePaul emerged with a convincing 6-1 victory at Cincinnati that day.

Following the Cincinnati match, DePaul will have just one regular season match left before the BIG EAST Championships on April 24-27. That match comes on April 19 against Marquette in Chicago.
