Women's Tennis Championship Bracket Reseeded, No. 22 DePaul Still the No. 3 Seed

CHICAGO -- The BIG EAST Conference reseeded the Women's Tennis Championship it was announced today by the league office.  The No. 22 DePaul women's tennis team remains the No. 3 seed while the four, five and six seeds were affected.  Syracuse is now the fourth seed, Marquette received the fifth and Louisville is now the sixth seed.

The BIG EAST Championship was reseeded after the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) presented the selection committee with some new rankings data and it was determined that a reseed was necessary to preserve the integrity of the Championship.

As the No. 3 seed, the Blue Demons are scheduled to face the winner of No. 11 St. John's and No. 6 Louisville on Saturday at 11 a.m. (CST) at Notre Dame's Courtney Tennis Center.  DePaul did not play St. John's this season, while the Blue Demons hold a 5-0 series advantage over the Red Storm since 2006.

Earlier this season, DePaul traveled to Louisville where it took a 5-2 win from the Cardinals.  The Blue Demons hold a 4-3 series advantage over Louisville since 2004 while the Cardinals are 3-1 in conference championship meetings.  In 2009, DePaul won the semifinal match with the Cardinals, while Louisville was victorious in 2008 and in 2004.

DePaul enters the BIG EAST Championship having won seven of its last eight matches, while Anna Redecsi has won her last six singles matches in the number on position.
