Women's Tennis Tops Connecticut in BIG EAST Consolation Play

Dunja Antunovic and Anja Mihaldinec picked up an 8-4 win over Christine Burek and Elizabeth Dibbs in the top doubles flight, while Kirsten Gambrell and Petra Rehusova rolled past Allison Campitello and Kelley Lorusso, 8-3, at No. 2 doubles. Clare Chmiel and Bojana Murisic did not finish No. 3 doubles with BreAnn Cheung and Jess Porter as DePaul clinched the point.
The top singles flight saw Antunovic earn her 26th win of the 2006-07 campaign with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 victory over Burek. The Blue Demon sophomore is currently ranked No. 112 in the FILA/ITA Division I national poll.
Gambrell gave the Blue Demons a point at No. 2 singles as she topped Lorusso, 7-6, 6-2. Mihaldinec fought from behind at No. 3 singles with a three-set, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, victory over Porter.
