Antunovic Named to BIG EAST Women's Tennis All-Tournament Team

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – DePaul sophomore Dunja Antunovic has been named to the 2007 BIG EAST Conference Women’s Tennis All-Tournament team the league announced on Wednesday.  Antunovic is one of 10 singles players recognized by the BIG EAST coaches for her outstanding performance at last weekend’s Conference Championship in Tampa, Florida.


Antunovic went 2-0 in the tournament while representing the Blue Demons at No. 1 singles.  She posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Cincinnati’s Hannah Hinton in the opening round and knocked off Connecticut’s Christine Burek, 6-0, 6-1, in consolation play.


Currently ranked No. 125 in the FILA/ITA Division I national poll, Antunovic posted a 2006-07 singles record of 26-5.


DePaul finished sixth as a team at the BIG EAST Championship with a 4-1 opening round victory over Cincinnati and a 4-3 consolation win over Connecticut.  The Blue Demons closed the 2007 dual season with a 13-12 overall record and a 6-5 slate in BIG EAST play.


USF swept the top awards as Shadisha Robinson was named Most Outstanding Player and Agustin Moreno earned Coach of the Year.  The Bulls upset top-seeded Notre Dame in the Championship finale.  The BIG EAST All-Tournament team recognizes ten singles players and six doubles teams.
