CHICAGO -- The DePaul women's tennis team, which clinched the 2014 BIG EAST Tournament Championship on Sunday in New York, has learned its NCAA Tournament fate.

The 46th-ranked Blue Demons (22-3) will play No. 27 Notre Dame (16-9) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner will square off against either No. 15 Northwestern or Miami (Ohio).

Both of the aforementioned first round matchups will be played at Northwestern in Evanston, Ill., on May 9. Second round play will be held on May 10.

Match time between the Blue Demons and Fighting Irish is scheduled for 12 p.m. Meanwhile, Northwestern and Miami will play at 3 p.m.

For the Blue Demons, this marks the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2010. Four years ago, DePaul fell to Ohio State in the first round. That contest was played in Ann Arbor, Mich.

DePaul earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by knocking off Xavier, 4-0, in the BIG EAST Tournament title match.
