Rice Invitational Draws Get Acrobat Reader

CHICAGO – After a successful weekend at Northwestern’s Wildcat Invitational last weekend, the DePaul women’s tennis team heads to Houston for the Rice Invitational Oct. 7-9 at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.

DePaul opened its season with 17 wins at the Wildcat Invite.  Freshman Rebeca Mitrea went 3-0 and reached the finals of D-singles Flight, while Patricia Fargas and Kelsey Lawson each posted a 2-1 record in their respective flights.

On the doubles side, Lawson and Fargas teamed-up and reached the finals of the B-doubles Flight, while Cali Gustafson and Mitrea won the consolation side of the same flight.

DePaul last played in the Rice Invitational in 2009.

Following the team’s weekend in Texas, the Blue Demons head to Columbus, Ohio for the ITA Midwest Regional Oct. 20-24.
