CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The DePaul women's tennis team will head to the USTA/ITA Midwest Regionals, beginning Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Atkins Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Illinois.

Players from 24 schools across the region will be vying for a spot in the prestigious USTA/ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championships, to be held Nov. 8-11 at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.

The tournament will begin with a 48-player qualifying singles draw on Thursday, Oct. 18, with players advancing to the 48-person main draw, which kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 20. Doubles play begins Friday, Oct. 19 and will feature 48 of the region's top tandems. Doubles action will conclude on Monday, Oct. 22, and singles play will end Tuesday, Oct. 23.

The Blue Demons pre-qualifying for the main draw include Carolin Neumann, Patricia Fargas, Jasmin Kling and Matea Cutura as DePaul will have four more doubles duos in the main draw on Friday.

Four more DePaul student-athletes, Ana Vladutu, Rebeca Mitrea, Kelsey Lawson and Zaina Sufi, will begin their journeys in the qualifier, which begins Thursday morning.
