Women's Tennis Concludes Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional
ANN ARBOR, Mich. Junior Dunja Antunovic of the DePaul women’s tennis team bowed out of the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Sunday with a loss in the main singles draw. Antunovic fell, 7-6 (4), 6-4 to Notre Dame’s Kali Krisik in the round of 16 at the University of Michigan Varsity Tennis Center.
Antunovic reached the round of 16 with a pair of victories on Saturday. She posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Drake’s Veronika Leszayova in the first round and a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Marisa Lambropoulos of Illinois in the second round.
Krisik advances to the main draw quarterfinals, where she faces Georgia Rose of Northwestern.
Antunovic’s loss marks the end of the Blue Demons’ stay at the Wilson/ITA Midwest Regional Championships. DePaul finishes the tournament with a 3-3 record in the main singles draw and a 3-3 record in the main doubles draw.
