10 More Victories Earned on Day Two
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. The DePaul women’s tennis team walked away from day two of the IU Invitational with 10 victories. The Blue Demons played one dual round of singles against opponents from Wisconsin, and faced competitors from Western Michigan and Indiana in doubles play.
DePaul took the dual against Wisconsin winning six out of the seven matches competed. Dunja Antunovic, Anna Redecsi, Katarina Milinkovic, Gia McKnight, Selma Salkovic, and Kirsten Gambrell all picked up singles victories. The team now boasts a cumulative singles record of 48-37.
In doubles action, DePaul won both rounds by a score of 2-1. In the first round of the day, Redecsi teamed up with Salkovic for the first time this season to defeat Myriam Sopel and Lindsey Stucky of Indiana 8-5. Gambrell and McKnight made their debut together with a win against Alba Berdala and Charlotte Martin, 9-8.
Cali Gustafson and Gambrell earned their third win of the season while playing Rachel Denny and Amanda Moccia of Western Michigan, 8-2. The final victory of the day was earned by Milinkovic and Salkovic, who defeated Emily Dudzik and Jenny Nalepa, 8-2.
The Blue Demons conclude the IU Tournament on Sunday morning when they face Indiana in singles dual competition.
