CHICAGO- The DePaul volleyball team lost the second match of the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational. DePaul falls to 0-4 on the season after a 3-1 (27-29, 25-22, 25-19, 25-20) loss to IUPUI. The Blue Demons next match will be Saturday at 9 a.m. against Wright State. Kate Letcher led the team with 14 kills and finished with 2 total blocks. Katherine Knutson was the defensive leader with 26 digs.

The Blue Demons began the match winning the first set 29-27. The set was a back and forth battle that never allowed any team to gather momentum. The set was tied at 24 when DePaul called a timeout. After the time out DePaul was able to go on a 5-3 run to close out the set. A blast to the back right corner from Anastasiya Shutava gave DePaul a one point lead, the set would end on a Jaguar attack error.

The Blue Demons would lose the first three points of the second set but would continue to work their way back into it. Kyndell Highland served seven straight points to start a Blue Demon 15-6 run. The Jagurs fought back and DePaul had to call a timeout when the Jaguars went up 22-21 led. DePaul came out of the timeout with a kill coming for Letcher but IUPUI would finish the set 25-22.

With the match tied up going into the third set, DePaul came out strong. The Blue Demons won the first three points and had a lead of 5 (13-8). The Jaguars would claw their way back into the match and it become and tied it at 19. The Jaguars would score the last six points of the set.

IUPUI went on a 12-3 run to start the fourth set. The Blue Demons would get within four at 19-15 from a Samantha Geiger kill. The Jaguars closed out the match 25-20.
