Blue Demons Fall to Milwaukee

CHICAGO - DePaul opened day two of its annual invitational and dropped a 3-0 decision to Milwaukee. The Panthers held off the Blue Demons with scores of 25-21, 20-25 and 25-18. DePaul concludes the DePaul Invitational with a match against Northwestern on Saturday evening.

DePaul jumped out to an early lead in the first set at 7-2. Milwaukee climbed back within two points at 14-12 before closing on a 13-7 run to win the opening set, 25-21.

The Blue Demons and Panthers stood deadlocked at 14 midway through the second set. In a single set that featured seven ties, Milwaukee ultimately took the win, 25-20, and finished the match in the third set with a 25-18 win.

Brittany Maxwell led the way for the Blue Demons with seven kills and four digs. Kelsey Horvath contributed 24 assists.

DePaul concludes play in the event at 7:30 p.m. against Northwestern at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
