CHICAGO- The DePaul volleyball team swept Loyola, 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-19), on Tuesday night. This improves the Blue Demons' record to 2-1 away and 3-6 overall.    

The Blue Demons held the Ramblers to only eight points in the first set, dominating in 25-8 fashion. Haley Bueser played a key role in maintaining the 18-7 lead, allowing DePaul to score eight points on her watch. "Haley helped our team to gain momentum right away from the service line and was able to help set the tone early in the match. She also had a phenomenal night defensively," added head coach Nadia Edwards 

DePaul only allowed for three lead changes in the second set, winning 25-16. Isabelle Banez helped with the five-point streak to maintain the DePaul lead. The Blue Demons took a 7-1 lead in the final set to ultimately take over with a 25-19 win.     

"Tonight, we challenged our group to focus on our side, gave them some statistical goals to obtain and they answered the call. It was a true team win and will give us some momentum for the weekend ahead," said Edwards.  

Brittany Maxwell led the DePaul volleyball team with 12 kills, 26 attacks, and 15.5 points. Caitlyn Coffey played a key role with seven blocks, improving her season high by four blocks and earned 10.5 points. Kelsey Horvath contributed the most team assists and notched up her season high of nine digs. Bueser led the Blue Demons with 17 digs, marking a season high by three digs. Claire Anderson and Myah Reed matched with 12 attacks each. 



The Blue Demons are back Friday, Sept. 15 with the Saint Louis Billiken Invitational. This marks the last matches before DePaul's BIG EAST debut. DePaul will start the three-match invitational with Saint Louis on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. Saturday holds two matches starting with Louisiana Tech at 10 a.m. and Little Rock at 4:30 p.m. Fans can visit the DePaul volleyball schedule page for all live coverage links and more.
