Blue Demons Fall to Providence

Final Stats

CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team fell to Providence, 3-0 (20-25, 20-25, 19-25), on Saturday night at McGrath-Phillips Arena. This puts the Blue Demons at 7-12 overall (1-6 BIG EAST).

DePaul jumped out to an 8-5 advantage in the first set. The Friars would battle back for a 25-20 set win. Brittany Maxwell contributed a team high four kills on the set.

The Blue Demons stood deadlocked with the Friars at 11 in the second set. Providence pulled away for their second consecutive 25-20 set victory, to take a 2-0 lead.

The visitors finished the game in the third set with a 25-19 set win.

Maxwell led the Blue Demons with 15 kills and 31 attacks to get 16.0 match points. Kelsey Horvath added a team high 27 assists. Isabelle Banez racked up 10 digs to close the match.  

DePaul volleyball is back in action on Oct. 14, when the Blue Demons travel to Georgetown for a 1 p.m. start.
