CHICAGO – With warmer weather approaching in Chicago, head coach Nadia Edwards and the DePaul volleyball team are quickly preparing to begin their spring season.

Coming off a season that saw the Blue Demons capture three BIG EAST Conference victories—their most since 2008—DePaul looks to make some significant strides in its game during March and April.

"I’m looking forward to our four competition dates this spring," Edwards said. "The ladies have been working hard this past winter and have experienced a lot of growth individually and collectively. We are all excited to test out those skills against our opponents and see where we measure up."

The Blue Demons kick off their spring season with a tournament this Saturday, March 31 at Northern Illinois. Along with the host Huskies, Kishwaukee College, SIU-Edwardsville, UIC, and St. Augustine are scheduled to participate in the tournament.

The following Saturday (April 7), the squad heads to Indianapolis to face off against tournament host Butler and fellow visiting teams IUPUI and Purdue.

On April 14, the Blue Demons finish off their tournament schedule at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Ill. Besides DePaul, the participating teams include Bradley, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Marquette, Missouri State, Michigan State, Milwaukee, Notre Dame and Chinese side, Tianjin.

Finally, on April 28, DePaul hosts its Alumni Day where the current Blue Demon squad takes on a team made up of volleyball alumni.

With the loss of graduating seniors Lauren Blasi, Molly Creek, and Sammy Geiger, Edwards hopes to see new faces step up for the Blue Demons.

Week in a week out, Edwards expects the team to play together as a cohesive unit and play the matches for each other. Resiliency and consistency are the team's main goals this spring as Edwards wants her squad to make sure that they are "cognizant of how we start and finish," asking that the team starts strong and finishes the same way.
