Volleyball Adds One More for 2009
CHICAGO -- DePaul head volleyball coach Amy Hardison announced today that Rachel Aumann has signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Blue Demons for the 2009 season. “Rachel is going to be a great addition to our roster this fall. She is a dedicated, hard working student-athlete who has been successful both in the classroom and on the court. Her size and athleticism will help us no matter what position she is on the court. I am excited to see her make an immediate impact to our program.” A standout on Racine Lutheran High School, Aumann led the Midwest Classic South Conference with 4.6 kills per game, while her .341 attack percentage led the team and ranked second in the conference. The 6-1 middle blocker tallied a team-high 159 total blocks and 54 service aces during her senior season with the Knights. As a senior, Aumann earned all-conference and all-state honors. A member of Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Club, Aumann has been a member of their 18 Blue team where she has competed at Junior National twice. The Blue Demons open their 2009 campaign at the Central Florida Tournament Aug. 28-29.
