Christy Landschoot: sports blog August 5
Hey everyone! Summer is coming to an end! We start preseason in about a week, and I am so excited! We have been working extremely hard since last season, and I cannot wait to see how it impacts our performance this season. We move into our rooms at DePaul this Friday, and then practice will start on Saturday. Whoooo! I have just been enjoying the awesome, but hot, weather here in Chicago. It has been so sunny and nice outside, and the beach is a perfect spot to enjoy it! Of course, going to a White Sox game is also a great option on nice days! Unfortunately, I have not had time to get to one lately, but I still like watching the games on TV. The recent addition to the team, Ken Griffey Jr., is making an impact. How exciting!!! I think all the girls on the team are super anxious for next weekend; we just want fall season to start already! Two of the freshmen had their orientation a few weeks ago, and the other two are going to their orientation this week. It feels like not too long ago I was a freshmen going to my orientation. Last year there were eight incoming freshmen though, so I was at orientation with five other freshmen teammates! We had a lot of fun getting to know each other, and we learned a lot more about DePaul. Before I knew it, freshman year was over! Time really does fly! This week is going to go by really fast as well. The team is going to UIC for open gym on Wednesday before preseason starts. Other than that, this week will be normal like we have been doing all summer until Friday when we move in. As for today, I am heading to the pool to enjoy the nice weather! I hope everyone else in Chicago is doing the same!!! Have a great week! GO BLUE! Christy :)
