Hey everyone!

My life for the past week has involved a lot of Olympics and volleyball.  We practiced in the morning and afternoon on Wednesday through Friday of last week.  We have been working so hard, and I am so proud of all of us!  Our practices have been getting more intense because now we are all improving and adjusting to two-a-day practices.  We were surprised with a weekend off after Friday’s afternoon practice!  We were all really excited to let our bodies rest.

There were plenty of activities this weekend in Chicago.  The air and water show went on all day on Saturday and Sunday.  I didn’t go, but a lot of other people did!  It was really crowded in the city, and I heard it was a lot of fun.  Because we had the weekend off from practice, we decided to go out to breakfast at Clarke’s on Saturday morning.  After breakfast, some of us went shopping on Halsted Street.  Later that day, many of us went to the women’s soccer first exhibition game held at Wish Field at DePaul.  It was such a nice day out, and it was great to get outside!  DePaul soccer won 1-0!  Yay!

My parents came to visit me on Sunday morning.  It was so nice to see them!  We got to catch up on everything going on at home.  We also got to talk about the games they are coming to, home and away games, which I am so excited for!  After they left, I went to the men’s soccer game, and watched them get a win as well!  It was a good weekend for DePaul soccer!

Sunday night we went to a team dinner.  We have such a funny team, and we always have a lot of laughs.  After dinner I watched more Olympics, of course.  I have not yet seen the USA Softball team play, but I really hope I do at some point!  Cat Osterman is a member of the USA Softball team as well as an assistant coach at DePaul.  She has kept us informed of everything she is doing in Beijing through her blog on DePaul’s website, and it sounds like she is having the experience of a lifetime.  Keep it up Cat!

Yesterday we were back in the gym for two-a-days.  We are continuing to work hard, and I think a lot of us are really anxious to play in less than two weeks!

Have a great week and check out our team photo album

GO BLUE!!
