DePaul Falls in Second Match
Morehead, KY- It was a frustrating loss for the Blue Demons (1-1) Saturday morning. The Demons could not seem to find their rhythm against IUPUI while losing in four games (26-30, 30-32, 30-22, 30-26).
“We never could take control of the game; the pace or the tone of the game this morning,” Head Coach Dawn Dockstader said. “We played like a young team, and we are not.”
“The players that had solid performances in yesterday’s match did not play up to their potential this morning. In order to win, our upperclassman need to play well and they did not this match,” Dockstader added.
DePaul lost the first two games 26-30 and 30-32 however, the squad was not ready to give up. The team came into the third game determined to win and they did so in a convincing style 30-22.
DePaul could not keep the momentum going into game four as IUPUI just kept coming at DePaul. “We could not seem to take the wind out of IUPUI, we had won game three but IUPUI came right back at us in game four and won,” Dockstader added.
