DePaul will host the Blue Demon Invitational this weekend, welcoming Belmont, Chicago State, Evansville and Valparaiso to the DePaul Athletic Center. Ten matches will be played Friday and Saturday with matches beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

CHICAGO- The DePaul volleyball team will host the Blue Demon Invitational this weekend, welcoming Belmont, Chicago State, Evansville and Valparaiso to the DePaul Athletic Center. Ten matches will be played Friday and Saturday with matches beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
DePaul (0-1) takes on Evansville (1-0) and Belmont (1-2) on Friday, and on Saturday they face Chicago State (0-1) and Valparaiso (1-1). Both matches on Friday and Saturday are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., respectively.
The Blue Demons are 24-12 lifetime against the tournament field; having played Evansville, Chicago State and Valparaiso in the past. Friday's meeting with Belmont will be the first meeting for both teams.
The Blue Demons opened their 2005 campaign last week in Fort Wayne, Indiana, falling 3-0 to a hard hitting IPFW team. Sophomore Aly Zavitz led the Blue Demons with 10 kills, eight digs and three assists. Redshirt freshman setter Mandi Caputo finished the match with 28 assists.
