Bishop MVP, Engel All-Tournament at Northern Illinois
DeKalb, Ill. - After leading the volleyball team to a perfect 3-0 record and the championship at the Northern Illinois Invitational, senior Stephanie Bishop was named tournament MVP while junior Katie Engel was selected to the the all-tournament team. Bishop tallied a team high 57 kills along with a team high 41 digs in three matches. She also compiled a .432 hitting percentage over the weekend. In her biggest match of the tournament, Bishop recorded 21 kills and 23 digs leading the Blue Demons to a five game victory over Texas-San Anotnio. Engel recorded 14 kills and 15 digs in the opening match against Creighton. She followed that up with a 14 kill, 8 dig performace against Texas-San Antonio and a 13 kill, 16 dig performance in the championship victory over Northern Illinois.
