"This is a huge win for us," said Coach Dawn Dockstader. "Winning back-to-back tournaments and defeating a perennial NCAA tournament team like UW-Milwaukee is great. We showed great composure and poise coming back from a 14-22 deficit in game one and a deficit late in game three. I'm also real happy for our seniors who finally beat UW-Milwaukee. This was a great weekend."
The Blue Demons fell behind 14-22 in the first game and then went on a 46-22 run which culminated with a 30-15 victory in game two. Senior Melissa Nordine planted four kills and three digs in the first game helping DePaul pull off the comeback.
DePaul dominated game two from the start. The Blue Demons jumped all over UW-Milwaukee building an early 10-4 lead and they never looked back. A .484 hitting percentage carried the Blue Demons to the impressive 30-17 victory.
In the third game DePaul again made a great comeback. Trailing 24-27, the Blue Demons rallied to win the game 31-29. The victory capped off a perfect day that saw the Demons go undefeated in its six games.
