Marks MVP, Nordine and Jakusz Land All-Tournament Honors
Milwaukee, Wis. - After leading the volleyball team to a perfect 3-0 record and the championship at the UW-Milwaukee Invitational, sophomore Lara Marks was named tournament MVP while seniors Melissa Nordine and Kara Jakusz were selected to the all-tournament team. Marks pounded 32 kills while compiling a .328 hitting percentage. She also racked up 10 blocks over the weekend. In her biggest match of the tournament, Marks recorded 14 kills, four blocks and a .393 hitting percentage leading the Blue Demons to a four game victory over Drake. Nordine added eight kills and 10 digs in the opening victory over Drake. She followed that up with an 11 kill, 10 dig performance against Southeast Missouri State and a 13 kill, 14 dig performance against UW-Milwaukee. Jakusz compiled 128 assists and a team high 36 digs in the three matches. In the championship victory over UW-Milwaukee Jakusz recorded 46 assists with 13 digs.
