CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team travels to Raleigh, N.C. this weekend for the NC State Raleigh Crabtree Valley Marriott Classic on Sept. 11 and 12. The Blue Demons square of with host school NC State at 11 a.m. (CST) on Friday, followed by a 4 p.m. match with Dartmouth. On Saturday the team faces Xavier at 9 a.m., and concludes the tournament with a match against George Mason at 4 p.m.
DePaul brings a 3-3 record into this weekend after taking second place at the DePaul Challenge last Friday and Saturday. Lauren Blasi set a new career-best in kills, terminating the ball 14 times in the win over Loyola-Chicago. Kate Letcher remained consistent for the Blue Demons, registering a .177 (28-17-60) weekend clip in addition to her eight blocks. Sarah Cullen led the offense with 40 kills, while tallying 45 digs.

DePaul vs. NC State
Friday's morning's match with the host school is just the second time in program history the Blue Demons have tangled with the Wolfpack. The first and only meeting occurred on Oct. 15, 1994 when DePaul edged NC State at home, 3-2. While boasting an overall record of 5-2, the Wolfpack most recently went 2-1 at the South Carolina Upstate Tournament.
DePaul vs. Dartmouth
This is the first meeting between the Blue Demon and Big Green volleyball programs. DePaul, in fact, has only faced an Ivy League school on the volleyball court twice, resulting in Blue Demon victories over Harvard and Pennsylvania. Dartmouth opened its season last weekend with back-to-back wins over Rhode Island and Quinnipiac.
DePaul vs. Xavier
The Blue Demons last met with the Musketeers on Sept. 18, 2004 when Xavier narrowly escaped with a 3-2 win. The Musketeers opened their season with a 3-2 win over Murray State but have since dropped the last five matches. Xavier leads the all-time series with DePaul 6-4.
DePaul vs. George Mason
For just the second time in program history, the Blue Demons face Patriots in competition. The Nov. 11, 1990 show down between the squads ended 3-0 "W" for DePaul. George Mason is coming off of a 3-0 weekend, having gone undefeated at the Patriot Invitational.
