Nordine, Bishop Land All-Tournament Honors
Green Bay-DePaul juniors Melissa Nordine and Stephanie Bishop earned spots on the all-tournament team at the Amerihost Classic hosted by UW-Green Bay this past weekend.
Of the two, Nordine played more steadily recording 42 kills, 34 digs, five aces and one solo block with 10 block assists in 11 games. Currently, she is second on the team in hitting percentage at .324 while ranking third in kills with 65 in 26 games. Nordine's best offensive output of the season came in DePaul's five game, three hour marathon against Tulsa. In that match, she posted 19 kills, 20 digs and seven block assists. Bishop led the Blue Demons in kills in all three of its matches on the weekend. She extended a streak she had begun the previous weekend to five consecutive matches of leading the team in kills. Bishop tallied 56 kills and 43 digs at the tournament. She ranks second on the team in kills (100), kills per game (3.85) and leads the Blue Demons in digs (102) and digs per game (3.92). DePaul moved its record to 5-2 (0-0 Conference USA) overall and will play Illinois on the road Tuesday at 7 p.m. They then will host the Blue Demon Invitational Sept. 15-16.
