Bueser Secures BIG EAST Honors
Sept. 19, 2017

NEW YORK - The BIG EAST named Haley Bueser to its volleyball weekly honor roll on Monday. This is Bueser's first selection during the regular 2017 season.

During last week’s four victories, DePaul volleyball defeated Loyola Chicago (3-0) and claimed the 2017 Saint Louis Billiken Invitational title. The Blue Demons won all three matches at the tournament against Saint Louis (3-1), Louisiana Tech (3-2), and Little Rock (3-2). This makes DePaul 3-1 on the road and 6-6 overall this season.

Bueser was instrumental for all four wins last week with the second highest digs per stat (4.71). Saint Louis Billiken Invitational also named Bueser all-tournament team. In the BIG EAST, Bueser is currently ranked fourth with 184 digs, after earning 80 digs last week.

"This is a well-deserved recognition for Haley. Over the past four matches she compiled 80 digs, passed over a 2.3 and was a threat from the service line. Her contributions defensively and her overall ball control put our team in a great position to compete and be successful throughout the weekend," said head coach Nadia Edwards.

Marquette's Allie Barber was named Offensive Player of the Week while Anna Logan from Butler was the Defensive Player of the Week and Natalie Ravenell from Butler took the Freshman of the Week. Bueser was joined on the weekly honor roll by Creighton’s Brittany Witt, Marquette's Martha Konovodoff, Remy Fairchild from Villanova and Xavier's Kristen Massa.
