Volleyball Hands Conference Opener to Cincinnati
CHICAGO – DePaul’s first Conference USA match of the season proved to be as tough as it gets. Cincinnati entered the Athletic Center ranked number two in the C-USA pre-season poll. The Blue Demons were taken in three (30-27, 30-18, 30-16). The Bearcats rallied to post 50 kills and eleven service aces against the Blue Demons. Leading DePaul was Lara Marks who hit eight kills out of 15 attempts, a .467 hitting percentage. Katie Engel accumulated 10 kills for the Blue Demons while Amie West added 24 assists. The high level of competition continues Saturday night when the Blue Demons welcome Louisville to match two of the conference season.
