Blue Demons to Host Illinois Tuesday at Athletic Center
CHICAGO -- The DePaul volleyball team takes the court Tuesday evening in a battle against the Fighting Illini of Illinois. DePaul enters the match with a 13-1 record and a perfect 5-0 Conference USA record. Illinois comes to the Athletic Center with a 8-5 record and a 2-4 Big Ten mark. The Blue Demons come into the match on a high note. DePaul downed Charlotte on Friday and East Carolina on Saturday. After dropping its first match of the season to Loyola, the Blue Demons are riding a four-match winning streak. DePaul sits in second place in Conference USA behind Louisville (6-0). Illinois split its matches this weekend downing Iowa on Friday and falling to #21 Minnesota on Saturday. After racing out to a 6-0 start, the Fighting Illini have lost five of its last seven matches. The match marks the beginning of a grueling two-week stretch for the Blue Demons. After the Illini, DePaul travels to conference powers Cincinnati and Louisville on Friday and Saturday before coming home to host Illinois Sate October 16. The Blue Demons then take to the road again facing Southern Miss and Tulane October 19-20. The Illinois match begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Athletic Center.
