Volleyball Falls to Cincinnati in Three Games



Cincinnati, Ohio -- DePaul volleyball fell to Cincinnati 30-27, 30-22, 30-22 in a match-up between the top two teams in Conference USA.  The loss drops the Blue Demons record to 5-1 in conference play and 13-3 overall.

The Blue Demons jumped out to an early lead in the first game but couldn't hold on.  Cincinnati scored 10 of the final 16 points in the game pulling out a 30-27 win.

DePaul never recovered after losing game one.  The Bearcats rolled in the next two games winning both by the same 30-22 score.  Cincinnati held the Blue Demons to a .041 hitting percentage in game two and a .087 hitting percentage in game three.

Junior Katie Engel led the Blue Demons with 11 kills while senior Melissa Nordine finished with 11 digs.

Cincinnati improves to a league leading 7-1 while improving to 10-5 on the season.

Next up, DePaul travels to Louisville to face the Cardinals, Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m.
