CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team returns after a week without competition, holding a (7-12, 1-6 BIG EAST) record. This weekend will mark the midpoint of BIG EAST conference play as DePaul travels to the east coast.

The Blue Demons look to improve their 3-4 road record with Georgetown and Villanova. Competition begins on Saturday with the Hoyas in Washington, D.C. and continues on Sunday with the Wildcats in Villanova, Pa. both with a 1 p.m. CT start.

Last Time vs. Georgetown
The DePaul volleyball team defeated Georgetown, 3-1 (7-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-17) on Friday, Oct. 28. Claire Anderson set a new career high for kills with 12 and tied career highs for digs (eight) and blocks (two). Myah Reed and Caitlyn Coffey each powered down nine kills to help DePaul to its program-best seventh BIG EAST victory of the season.

Scouting The Hoyas
Georgetown closed out the 2016 season with a (7-24, 3-15 BIG EAST) record, finishing ninth in conference standings. The Hoyas graduated two seniors and return 13 letterwinners for 2017. The BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll locked in Georgetown for ninth with 21 votes. The Blue Demons travel to Washington, D.C. after the Hoyas fell to St. John's, 0-3. Georgetown now holds a (7-12, 1-6 BIG EAST) record.

Last Time vs. Villanova
DePaul dropped the match Saturday, Oct. 29 at Villanova, 0-3 (18-25, 20-25, 19-25). Myah Reed and Caitlyn Coffey each had eight kills in the match. Coffey added four digs and one block. Haley Bueser added 12 team digs.

Scouting The Wildcats
Villanova earned a (18-13, 9-9 BIG EAST) 2016 record and finished sixth in the BIG EAST. The Wildcats were picked fifth with 46 votes in the 2017 Preseason Coaches' Poll, adding three new faces. Villanova hosts Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 14 before the DePaul match-up. The Wildcats enter Sunday's match with a (11-7, 4-3 BIG EAST) record.
