Volleyball Hosts UW-Green Bay
CHICAGO - DePaul takes a break from conference play this Tuesday to host UW-Green Bay at 7 p.m. in the DePaul Athletic Center. They fell to Southern Miss on Saturday despite an amazing performance by Katie Engel that included 34 kills and 28 digs. The Blue Demons look to improve their record of 5-17.
Head Coach Dawn Dockstader and her team show no signs of slowing down and look to pick up the pace for the end of their season.
"I feel as though we’ve learned a lot after a tough loss to Southern Miss and I expect us to carry that experience into the final stretch of our conference season," says Coach Dockstader. "We have backed ourselves into a corner and have no other choice but to come out fighting. We are responsible for the position we’re in and we’re responsible for the direction we go from here."
"This team is very talented and extremely capable of finishing strong but they have to make a conscious effort to do so."
UW-Green Bay is coached by Debbie Kirch in her sixth season as head coach for the team. Leading the Phoenix offensively is Janelle Tomlinson who racked up 10 kills in their match against Loyola-Chicago on Saturday. Jessie Theys will also be giving the Blue Demons a hard time this Tuesday. Theys leads her team in blocking and is a key player on their offense. She has tallied 297 kills this season for the Phoenix. Running the offense is Leslie Kuhn who contributed 30 assists to the match against Loyola. Defensively, Krista Olearnick has successfully dug 351 balls and will look to add to her records on Tuesday night.
