Goreham Named C-USA Co-Player of the Week



CHICAGO- DePaul senior middle blocker, Janet Goreham was named Conference USA Co-Player of the Week today as announced by the league office. The senior averaged 2.11 blocks per game in DePaul’s victories over TCU and Houston last week. 

 

Goreham led DePaul to its first sweep of weekend matches in C-USA play this season. She recorded a pair of double-doubles finishing the weekend with 30 kills, 25 digs and 19 total blocks (6 block solos and 13 block assists). Goreham was a block assist shy of a triple-double in the Houston match (16 kills, 11 digs, nine block assists).

 

The senior leads DePaul, averaging 3.51 kills per game and a .291 attack percentage.  She is also ranked sixth in C-USA averaging 1.25 blocks per game.

 

Aida Antanaviciute from Saint Louis was named the other co-Player of the week.  Antanaviciute posted a trio of triple doubles during a 2-1 week for the Billikens.

 

Goreham is the first DePaul volleyball player to be named C-USA player of the week since Stephanie Bishop was named it twice in 2001.

 

The Blue Demons (10-13, 3-4 C-USA) will break from C-USA action traveling to Milwaukee on Tuesday to face UW-Milwaukee at 7:00 p.m.
